Loyola Student-Athletes Score High Marks In Classroom In Spring Semester

CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago student-athletes continue to perform admirably and during the Spring 2017 semester posted a collective 3.31 grade-point average. An impressive 76 percent (160 total) of Loyola student-athletes recorded a Spring 2017 GPA of 3.0 or higher.

During the Spring 2017 semester, 97 Ramblers compiled a GPA of at least 3.50, while 14 of those achieved a perfect 4.0 mark.

Led by the women’s golf program, which posted a team GPA of 3.656, seven Loyola teams achieved a GPA of at least 3.40 for the Spring 2017 term. Men’s golf (3.645), men’s cross country (3.506), women’s soccer (3.460), women’s cross country (3.423), men’s soccer (3.418), and women’s track and field (3.414) also tallied GPA’s of at least 3.40 for the semester.

In addition to the impressive GPA figures, a total of 24 Loyola student-athletes received Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete recognition with 14 more earning Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Academic All-Conference honors during the 2016-17 academic year.
