Loyola Announces Additions To Athletics Department Staff

CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. M. Grace Calhoun announced today a handful of additions to the department staff. Joining the Rambler Athletics staff are Seth Breitenstein, Kyle Fairchild and Dan Shepard.
Breitenstein comes to Loyola after spending two years in the athletics development office at Ohio University. At Loyola, the 2008 graduate of Appalachian State, where he was also a member of the football team, will serve in the role of assistant athletics director for advancement, and head up the department's fundraising efforts.
He earned master's degrees in both business administration and sports administration from Ohio University. In addition to his stint at Ohio, Breitenstein has also spent time as a marketing and operations assistant with the Durham Bulls and worked for the Nashville Sports Council and Music City Bowl, Inc.
Fairchild will serve as a compliance intern for the 2012-13 academic year. A native of Indianapolis, Fairchild most recently served as an enforcement extern and secondary infractions intern for the NCAA, where he processed self-reported secondary violations and assisted the enforcement staff in the investigation and prosecution of NCAA rule enforcement. Fairchild graduated from Xavier University and in May earned his Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Shepard joins the Loyola staff as a multimedia intern, where he will work extensively with the department's social media and video platforms. A 2012 graduate of Loyola with degrees in sports management and marketing, the Cleveland, Ohio native spent the last four years as a men's basketball manager for the Ramblers. In 2010, he served as an intern at The National Basketball Academy, where he helped with the planning and organization of the May Day Classic AAU Tournament.
