Nov. 30, 2012

CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago is excited to announce the "63 Facts About 1963" contest, which will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1963 men's basketball National Championship team.

Fans are encouraged to "like" the Rambler's official Facebook page and follow the Ramblers on Twitter (@LoyolaRamblers). Questions will be asked periodically between December 1 and March 23, the 50th anniversary of the Rambler's 60-58 overtime win over Cincinnati in the title game of the 1963 NCAA Tournament, through both outlets.

Questions will be asked about the players, coaches and individual games from that historic year. Prizes will be awarded to the winners, who will be the first responders to questions, at select basketball games throughout the season. They will include official Loyola gear, limited edition bobbleheads and gift cards to supporting businesses.

This contest is just part of Loyola's season-long celebration of the 1963 championship team. The Ramblers are still the only team in the state of Illinois to have won a NCAA Division I men's basketball title. Fans can also visit, a website dedicated to the 1963 team, which features a wealth of information on that historic season.

The Ramblers (5-2), seeking their fourth straight win in the young season, host Furman tomorrow at the Gentile Arena. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
