Bill Behrns

Asst. Athletics Director - Athletics Communications

Bill Behrns is entering his 13th year at Loyola University Chicago and as assistant athletics director for athletics communications, oversees the media relations efforts for all 15 of the Ramblers' varsity sports. The Chicago native, who served as the assistant SID at Loyola in 1999-2000, has been the sports information director since 2000 and assumed his current title in 2011.

At Loyola, Behrns has overseen several redesigns of the department's website, while also coordinating the launching of Loyola's social media platforms. He also has served as a color analyst on Loyola men's basketball radio broadcasts.

Prior to arriving at Loyola, he spent three years as the assistant SID at UIC, where he covered the sports of women's basketball, softball, tennis and cross country. He also has served internships at the University of Illinois, the University of Dayton and with the Kane County Cougars. At Illinois, he aided in the publicity efforts that helped promote 1995 Butkus Award winner Kevin Hardy.

Behrns, who is a member of the United States Basketball Writers Association, has worked numerous NCAA Championship events and has served as a game-day volunteer for the Chicago Bears.

A 1994 graduate of the University of Dayton, Behrns lives in Chicago.
