Tim Dobrowolski Signs With Louisville City FC

June 15, 2016

CHICAGO - Tim Dobrowolski, a recently graduated senior from the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team, has signed a professional contract with Louisville City FC of the United Soccer League (USL), it was announced by the club on Wednesday afternoon.

"It's such an incredible opportunity to be given the chance to play at a higher level," Dobrowolski said. "My time at Loyola has helped me to develop both as a goalkeeper and a student of the game. Louisville City is a great club and I'm excited to begin putting in the work!"

Dobrowolski, a goalkeeper, helped rewrite the record books during his four-year stay in Rogers Park. After appearing in six games as a freshman, he took over as Loyola's starting netminder during his sophomore year, starting in all 17 games that he appeared in en route to tallying six shutouts.

The Rockford, Ill. product came into his own as a junior as he posted a 0.78 goals against average to go along with an 0.797 save percentage that would ultimately lead to him being named the Missouri Valley Conference's Goalkeeper of the Year as well a First Team All-Valley selection. Dobrowolski also went on to earn Third Team All-West Region accolades from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as he helped lead the Maroon & Gold to what would be its first winning season in six years.

Dobrowolski upped his game to an even higher level during his senior season, repeating as the league's Goalkeeper of the Year to go along with First Team All-MVC honors. He posted a Valley-high 11 shutouts to become Loyola's all-time career leader in the category and also sported a sparkling 0.40 goals against average that led all league netminders and ranked second overall nationally. Dobrowolski would go on to be recognized as an NSCAA First Team All-West Region selection following the completion of a season that saw Loyola finish with double-digit wins for the first time since 2008.

Founded in 2014, Louisville City FC is currently in the midst of its second season as a member of the USL. The team currently sits atop the league's Eastern Conference table with an impressive 8-1-4 record through 13 contests. More information on Louisville City FC can be via the club's official website.
