Ingram, Jackson Earn Savannah Invite All-Tournament Team Accolades

Ingram named co-MVP as Ramblers share team title

CHICAGO (November 26, 2017) – Loyola University Chicago seniors Donte Ingram (Chicago, Ill./Simeon) and Aundre Jackson (Kennedale, Texas/Kennedale/McLennan CC) were named to the Savannah Invitational All-Tournament Team late last night at the conclusion of the event. In addition to earning all-tournament recognition, Ingram was named co-most valuable player of the tournament, along with Bakari Evelyn from Valparaiso, as Loyola and Valpo shared the tournament title.

Joining Ingram and Jackson on the Savannah Invitational All-Tournament Team was Jaylin Walker (Kent State), Jordon Talley (UNC Wilmington), Tevonn Walker (Valparaiso) and Bakari Evelyn (Valparaiso).

In two games at the Savannah Invitational in Georgia over the weekend, Ingram put up 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while connecting on 57.8 percent (11-for-19) of his field goal attempts, including 45.5 percent (5-for-11) of his three-point tries. After tallying 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists in a 102-78 victory over UNC Wilmington on November 24, the 6-foot-6 guard/forward contributed 18 points, his most since scoring 21 in the season opener versus Wright State, and gathered a season-high 11 rebounds, to go with a pair of assists, in a 75-60 decision against Kent State on November 25.

Jackson's weekend performance was no less impressive as the 6-foot-5 forward went for 18.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.5 apg and 1.0 apg, while shooting 65.2 percent (15-for-23) from the field and 71.4 percent (5-for-7) from beyond the arc. In the win over UNCW, Jackson erupted for a career-best 25 points, hitting 10-of-13 shots from the field, including 4-of-5 from three-point territory, and corralled five rebounds. The 2016-17 Missouri Valley Conference Sixth Man of the Year followed that up with 11 points, three boards and three assists to help the Ramblers to the victory over Kent State.

Loyola, which, at 7-0 is off to its best start since 2010-11, is back in action Tuesday night (Nov. 28) when it visits Boise State in a Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge Series game.
