Doyle To Open NBA Summer League Play With Nets Friday

Former Loyola standout begins quest for NBA roster spot

CHICAGO (July 4, 2017) – Former Loyola University Chicago standout Milton Doyle (Chicago, Ill./Marshall/Kansas) will begin his quest for a roster spot with the Brooklyn Nets when he opens NBA Summer League play with the team in Las Vegas Friday (July 7).
 
The 6-foot-4 guard, who was a First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District selection in 2016-17 will be joined on the Nets' summer league roster by another Chicago area product Rodney Pryor, an Evanston native who played at Robert Morris before transferring to Georgetown. The Nets' roster also includes NBA veterans Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Archie Goodwin and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, among others.
 
During his storied career as a Rambler, Doyle racked up 1,606 points and 459 assists, totals that rank eighth and fifth in school history, respectively. Doyle fell just six rebounds shy of becoming the second player in Loyola annals with 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists and saved his best for last, averaging 15.2 points., 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game as a senior in helping Loyola to 18 wins and its first Associated Press Top 25 votes in over 30 years.
 
Doyle and the Nets kick off the slate of action on Friday, July 7 when they take on the Atlanta Hawks at 7 p.m. Central in a game that will be televised live on NBA TV. The Nets will play three games in Vegas before playoff action commences July 12. The Nets' complete schedule of games can be found below.
