COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 2, 2017) – Loyola University Chicago head women's basketball coach Kate Achter has been invited to speak at the upcoming USA Basketball Coach Academy – presented by Nike in Las Vegas, Nevada, Aug. 18-20.  Achter, who is preparing to begin her second season at the head of the Rambler bench, will be appearing at her third USA Basketball Coach Academy of the summer.
 
"I'm so thankful for another opportunity to represent Loyola Women's Basketball on a national level," Achter said.  "I am very much looking forward to sharing our vision for the program and the process that my staff and I wholeheartedly believe in.  USA Basketball has put together a fantastic group of presenters and I look forward to sharing and learning alongside them."
 
USA Basketball Coach Academies give coaches and administrators the opportunity to obtain valuable insight and education.  Though various academy sessions, coaches of all levels are taught the USA Basketball curriculum for a proper skill development path to teach the game to players of all ages and skill levels.  Guest speakers are tasked with administering sessions on basketball and leadership topics.
 
Achter will be joined at the event by a host of coaches and administrators that include Don Showalter, USA Basketball coach development director and an eight-time USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year award winner; Dave Bollwinkel, scout for the NBA Chicago Bulls; Mike Jones, three-time, gold-medal winning USA Basketball coach and head boys basketball coach at DeMatha Catholic High School (Md.); Frank Martin, head men's basketball coach at University of South Carolina; Niko Medved, head men's basketball coach at Drake University; Josh Pastner, head men's basketball coach at Georgia Tech; Sue Phillips, two-time, gold-medal winning USA Basketball head coach and head girls basketball coach at Archbishop Mitty High School (Calif.) and for the San Jose Cagers.
