CHICAGO (September 13, 2017) – Members of the Loyola University Chicago men's basketball program spent part of their weekend volunteering at the Misericordia Family Fest on Saturday, September 9. Head coach
Porter Moser's squad lent a helping hand with preparation for the fest, which was held on September 10 in Chicago.
As part of its day of activities, the Loyola men's basketball team loaded trucks, carried boxes, set up tents and assisted with food preparation for the event. Loyola and Misericordia have had a longstanding relationship in which Rambler student-athletes volunteer their time performing a variety of activities for the service provider that cares for over 600 individuals challenged by mental and physical disabilities.
"Misericordia is a special place and in keeping with the Jesuit tradition it is important for our program to be men for others," Moser said. "Our guys enjoyed helping with the preparation for Family Fest and got a lot out of the experience. We look forward to more visits with the people at Misericordia and are eager to welcome them back to Gentile Arena for their annual group outing this season."
