Former Rambler Milton Doyle Opens Training Camp With Brooklyn Nets

Chicago native ranks eighth in Loyola history with 1,606 points

CHICAGO (September 26, 2017) – Former Loyola University Chicago men's basketball standout Milton Doyle (Chicago, Ill./Marshall/Kansas) opens training camp with the Brooklyn Nets today. One of the all-time Rambler greats, Doyle is competing for a spot on the Nets' opening night roster.

Doyle signed a contract with the Nets in August after performing admirably for the team at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July. Playing for the Nets in Summer League action, the 6-foot-4 guard averaged 10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, while shooting 56.7 percent (17-for-30) from the field and 50 percent (5-for-10) from three-point range in four contests.

At Loyola, Doyle was one of the most decorated players ever to wear the Maroon and Gold, accumulating 1,606 points and 459 assists in his career. In 2016-17, he became the first Rambler ever to earn First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference recognition and also was honored on the National Association of Basketball Coaches First Team All-District squad.

During his stint at Loyola, Doyle helped the Ramblers to the 2015 College Basketball Invitational (CBI) title in the program's first postseason appearance since 1985 and was the leader of a 2016-17 squad that received the program's first Associated Press Top 25 votes since 1985. As a senior in 2016-17, Doyle contributed 15.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 4.4 apg and 1.7 spg.

Doyle is trying to become the first Loyola player to appear in an NBA game since Andre Moore in 1987-88.
