Faustin Sets School-Record Mark in High Jump At Indiana

CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago track and field sent several members to Bloomington, Ind., on May 5 to compete in the Billy Hayes Invitational, held on the campus of Indiana University. There were no team scores recorded in the meet and featured some of the top teams in the Midwest for NCAA Divisions I, II, III and the NAIA.
Junior Marcia Faustin (Orland Park, Ill.) captured a second-place finish in the women's high jump and set a new school record with a leap of 5-08.75. The mark also qualifies her for the NCAA Mideast Regional on May 26-27 in Knoxville, Tenn.
Senior Sean Conroy (Cork, Ireland) placed ninth in the men's 1,500-meter run with a season-best time of 3:47.87, narrowly missing the regional qualifying mark by a few tenths of a second, while fellow classmate Shawn Lucas (Elgin, Ill.) finished 16th at a time of 3:53.85. Senior Chris Morris (McHenry, Ill.) was right behind Lucas in 17th place with a time of 3:55.56. Sophomore Joe Mahalick (Joliet, Ill.) placed 17th in the 800m with a time of 1:56.23.
The Ramblers head to Indianapolis to compete in the Horizon League Outdoor Championships, hosted by Butler, beginning Thursday, May 11.
