Matt Gordon, a Chicago native and graduate of St. Rita High School is in his first season as director of basketball operations at Loyola University Chicago. Gordon spent the last three seasons as the director of basketball operations at Saint Louis University.

"Matt has been with me for eight years now, and when I took this job, I knew I had to have him join the staff," Loyola head coach Porter Moser said. "In addition to having Chicago Catholic League ties as a graduate of St. Rita High School, Matt is the best I have ever been around when it comes to film breakdown. His organizational skills are off the charts and he brings with him NBA experience from his time with the Memphis Grizzlies."

A 2006 graduate of Illinois State University, Gordon began his basketball career as the head manager for the Redbirds under Moser. He also served as the video coordinator as well as a camp counselor at Illinois State.

After graduating from Illinois State, Gordon took a position with Full Package Athletics in Lake Forest, Ill., where he was a head coach for AAU teams and conducted daily practices and workouts for those squads.

In 2007, the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies hired him to a basketball operations internship where he assisted the coaching staff with multiple projects in the video department including the recording and editing of all games.

Gordon resides in Chicago.
