Men's Basketball Blog Entry #9: Jordan Hicks
Senior Jordan Hicks talks about how lucky he is to be playing college basketball
Feb. 2, 2012
It has been awhile since my last blog and during that time I really thought a lot about how lucky myself and my teammates are to be doing what we're doing and be here. Sometimes all that can be pushed aside by a lot of different things, and unfortunately for us this year has been a rough one to say the least but that's how it goes sometimes. You just have to learn from it and get better so you're not continuously making the same mistakes. But, realizing the fact that a lot of people would love to be in my shoes and that this experience won't last forever has helped me through things and continue to work hard (and the fact that I love the game, don't forget that). However you may feel about that, that's fine but it's something that's important to me because it's something that comes into play in a lot of aspects of life, not just basketball. "You don't know what you got till its gone".
On a higher note, school is back in session and I never thought I'd be happy to start classes again, even though I love my classes and teachers (I'll take the brownie points)! It sure is nice to have other people on campus and not just myself and the other 13 guys on the team. It's also great to see all the fans back at the games creating an awesome environment to play in at Gentile Arena. Tomorrow night we take on Cleveland State, which is leading the Horizon League and so I hope everyone can come and pack the arena! Your support means a lot to the team and is much appreciated. See you at the game!
