Loyola Picked Tenth In Horizon League Poll

CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago men's basketball team has been picked to finish tenth in the Horizon League in the annual preseason poll that was released today. The Ramblers received 97 total points in the poll, which is voted on by the League's head coaches, sports information directors and media members. Defending regular-season champion Butler was tabbed to win the Horizon League title once again as it received 455 total points and 43 of a possible 46 first-place votes. Wright State, which received one first-place vote, was pegged second with 398 points, followed by Cleveland State with 324 points and a pair of first-place tallies. Milwaukee was slated to finish fourth, followed by Green Bay, Detroit, Youngstown State, Valparaiso and UIC. Loyola, which returns a pair of starters from last year's outfit that posted 14 victories, opens the 2009-10 season at Kansas State, Nov. 13. Fans will get one opportunity to see the Ramblers in action prior to the opener, when the team hosts Robert Morris in an exhibition contest at the Gentile Center, Nov. 2. 2009-10 Horizon League Preseason Poll Results |
