I don't know about you but by the time Sunday rolls around I have a feeling of sadness, because for the past five-and-a-half days I've waited for the weekend and before I know it, I'm getting ready for my 8:15 class Monday morning. This weekend seemed to go by especially fast, with my wonderful mother coming on Thursday I couldn't be more excited. I think just about every basketball player could pass for a little bit of a momma's boy. I know I do, and I'm proud of it (this is what makes basketball players so appealing, right?).
Excited to see my mom, I still had to remain focused for practice. This week was rough on a few of the guys but it didn't stop us from having a productive week in closing the gap to where we want to be as a team. With only two weeks before our showdown at Illinois, we are on the right track. I hope the fans are as excited as we are for the first game and hopefully they all come down to Champaign to support their Ramblers.
It's been a long week, mentally and physically I'm drained but being able to spend some quality time with mom revitalized me and lifted my spirits. She's one of those people that make you feel good by just being around them (no words said). I may be 21 but I for sure cannot say I don't need my mom, and she would agree. As soon as she walked into my room she started washing the dishes, throwing away my trash, and taking off the sheets on my bed so she could wash them (all while giving Courtney Stanley a motherly lecture - embarrassing). It was hard to see her leave, but mark it on your calendar - she will be back for the first home game versus Fordham on November 26!
Well it's back to business, as we prepare for the season, which will be here before you know it. The arrow is going up! Thank you to everyone that gave positive feedback and I hope you continue to follow!
