LEMONT, Ill. - The Loyola University Chicago men's golf team find themselves just five shots off the lead after day one of the 2012 John Dallio Memorial in Lemont, Ill.
Marquette and Northern Iowa sit in a first place tie after the opening round of play, while UW-Green Bay and Evansville sit just one stroke behind them for the team lead. Tom Boockmeier (UW-Green Bay) and Dalton Charboneau (SIU Edwardsville) find themselves atop the individual leaderboard after each posted an opening round score of 72.
Junior Nick Willenborg and sophomore Nick Dennis both tallied opening round scores of 77 for the Ramblers, placing them in a tie for seventeenth on the overall leaderboard. Alex Cusumano and Brian Van De Motter put up scores of 78 and 79, respectively. Freshman PJ Riner rounded out the Rambler lineup with a score of 84.
Due to a late start caused by a frost delay, only round one could be completed before darkness halted play. With frost again expected to be an issue tomorrow morning, round two is scheduled to resume at 9:00 a.m. and will be immediately followed by final round play.
