Men's Golf in Sixth After Opening Round of Cougar Golf Classic

CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago men's golf team sits in sixth place, just six shots outside of the top five, after completing opening round play at the Cougar Golf Classic this afternoon. Valparaiso (Gold) sits on top of the team leaderboard (286), while Brad Winters (Valparaiso Gold) and Oscar Sharpe (Indian Hills CC) are tied for the lead on the individual side after each of them posted an opening round score of 69 at the Harborside International Golf Center. Junior Sean Hickey fired a season-best 75 to lead the Ramblers. He finds himself tied for nineteenth on the leaderboard. Hickey is joined by Nick Dennis (76), PJ Riner (76) and Brian Van De Motter (77) in the top thirty overall. Sophomore Anthony Maroon (82) and freshman Adam Decker (79), who competed as an individual, rounded out the Rambler lineup. Final round play will take place tomorrow at Harborside, with the first group scheduled to tee off at 9:00 a.m. Team Standings After Round One |
