CHICAGO - Following a trip to Texas to open its spring season, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team will be in action in Springfield, Mo. at the start of the week when it competes at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.
The event's opening two rounds are slated for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the par 71, 6,760-yard course at the Twin Oaks Country Club. Final-round play will feature tee times off of holes one and 10 on Tuesday morning.
The 10-team field assembled for the event will give Loyola an opportunity to see how it stacks up against a trio of Missouri Valley Conference rivals in host Missouri State, Bradley and Northern Iowa. Creighton, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, SIUE, Texas Rio Grande Valley and Valparaiso are also scheduled to be in action.
Bonema and LaFrance paced the attack for the Ramblers at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational earlier in the week in Dallas, Texas. Bonema, out of Troy, Mich., fired an 18-hole season-low of 70 during second-round play en route to posting a two-day tally of 223 (76-70-77) that earned him an eight-place finish. LaFrance, a native of Milford, Mich., fired a two-over-par 72, also a season low, during the event's final round to earn 15th at 229 (82-75-72).
Live scoring will be available throughout all 54 holes of play via BirdieFire.com.
Following its trip to the Ozarks, Loyola returns to action in two weeks, April 3-4, when it competes at the Wright State Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.
