CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago men's golf team unveiled its 2013 spring schedule today. The schedule features two trips to Florida and multiple opportunities to compete against local rivals.
"We're really excited about the opportunity to play against top-tier completion," said head coach Adam Kwiatkoski. "It'll be great for us to get down to Florida before the Horizon League Championships. Playing in Northwestern's new event in Glenview will also be a great chance for us to play against quality opponents in front of a local crowd. In my opinion, this is the most challenging spring schedule assembled in the program's history."
The Ramblers will open the season in Lake Worth, Fla. at the FAU Spring Break Championship, March 29-31. They'll return to action less than a week later at the Hotels at Grand Prairie Collegiate Classic in Peoria, Ill., April 6-7.
After competing in Peoria, Loyola will take part in the inaugural Kemper Sports Intercollegiate, hosted by Northwestern University. The action will take place in nearby Glenview, Ill., April 15-16. The Ramblers will close out their regular season by competing in the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind., April 20-21.
Loyola will then turn its focus to defending its Horizon League Championship. The Ramblers will make their second trip to Florida, this time to Howey-in-the-Hills, to compete in the 2013 Horizon League Championships, April 27-28.
