Neil Thompson begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for Loyola University Chicago men's soccer, and will work primarily as a goalkeeper coach.
A graduate of Judson University, Thompson also serves as a goalkeeper coach for Sockers FC in addition to acting as president of Big Cat Goalkeeping Company.
A former professional soccer player from 2003-07, Thompson started his career with Carlisle United FC in League One of the English Football League in 2003. Following a stint with the Blues, he played for Hull City AFC in the English Championship League before joining Llaneli AFC and concluding his professional career with Barnet FC in 2007.
Following his professional career, Thompson spent time as a coach for both the Cary Soccer Association and Barrington Soccer Association and later served as assistant director of Chicago Fire Juniors Inc.
