CHICAGO - Former Loyola University Chicago goalkeeper Peter McKeown will participate in the 2013 InfoSport: Pro Soccer Combine, it was announced today. McKeown is one of 27 goalkeepers currently accepted to the combine, which takes place Jan. 8-10 in Sarasota, Florida.
"I'm very excited for the opportunity to play in front of people who can help me get to the next level," said McKeown. "I'm excited to put myself on the map as someone who is looking to play on the professional level. I've been training with Minnesota Stars FC and on my own, so I'm feeling confident and looking forward to the combine."
In his time at Loyola, McKeown led the Ramblers to three postseason appearances, helping his team win the 2011 Horizon League Tournament and later being named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Currently, McKeown is ranked second in program history after posting 20 career shutouts.
After concluding his final season at Loyola this fall, McKeown looks to continue his soccer career at the professional level. Those players attending the combine in January will be paced through training sessions and games while being scouted by pro coaches, general managers and agents from around the world.
