May 31, 2017

CHICAGO - Three Loyola University Chicago men’s volleyball signees recently earned recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and VolleyballMag.com.

Incoming freshman setter Garrett Zolg (Santa Ana, Calif./Mater Dei) was named AVCA First Team High School All-America and along with fellow Loyola signees Thomas Kovanic (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) and Devin Joslyn (Angola, N.Y./Canisius) was also named to the VolleyballMag.com Boys Fab 50 list.

The Fab 50 list ranks the top 50 senior-age boys players in the nation and voting was handled by a panel of NCAA men’s Division I-II coaches.

Loyola, which won back-to-back NCAA championships in 2014 and 2015, finished the 2017 season ranked No. 14 in the AVCA Division I-II Poll. The Ramblers posted 16 or more wins for the 21st consecutive season and recorded five wins over nationally ranked opponents this year.
