Loyola Ranked Tenth in AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll
Dec. 28, 2012 CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball will kick off the 2013 campaign ranked No. 10 in the AVCA Division I-II Men's Coaches Preseason Poll. The Ramblers are set to play six teams ranked in the preseason poll, starting with the season-opener on Jan. 4 against No. 7 Long Beach State. This is the second consecutive season the Ramblers have debuted at tenth. After finishing the 2012 season 19-12 overall, Loyola returns six starters and welcomes six newcomers with the Ramblers looking to make their first NCAA tournament appearance in program history. Loyola is one of three teams in the MIVA that made the preseason poll with Lewis ranked fifth and Ohio State ranked 11th. UC Irvine took the top spot, collecting 16 first place votes after winning the 2012 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship. The Ramblers begin the 2013 season in Santa Barbara Calif., playing in the ASICS Invitational on Jan. 4-5.
