Ramblers sit in fourth place after day one of Springlake Intercollegiate

SEBRING, Fla. - Junior Lucy McGovern fired an opening-round 76 to lead Loyola University Chicago in day one of the Springlake Intercollegiate hosted by Northern Illinois University at Springlake Golf Course. The tightly contested field is led by Lynn University (302), and the Ramblers, who notched a team score of 325 today, sit just one stroke behind NIU (324).
McGovern opened the spring season by posting a four-over-par 76 today, a mark that ties her for fifth place overall in the 36-hole tournament. Nikki Miller carded an 80 today, to tie for 12th place, while Megan Sujack (84), Kaitlin Kearney (85) and Jaclyn Zembrodt (91) rounded out the Ramblers' lineup.
Megan Mangone of Lynn shot a tournament-best 71 to lead all golfers in round one at the par-72 course.
Loyola concludes play at the Springlake Intercollegaite with 18 holes tomorrow morning.
