Taugner Fires A 77 In Opening Round Of CSU Cougar Invite|
Sept. 17, 2012
CHICAGO - Christy Taugner shot a five-over-par 77 as Loyola University Chicago kept itself within reach of first place after one round at the CSU Cougar Invitational at Harborside International Golf Center today. The Ramblers put up a team score of 321 and currently reside in a tie for sixth place with Valparaiso, but are only 12 shots behind leader IUPUI (309).
Taugner's matched her season low and continued her solid play this fall by posting a 77, which was the lowest score by any member of the Loyola lineup today. Olivia Lindsley was steady yet again, playing more like an upperclassman than a freshman, as she put up an 80, while Carly Schneider battled her way to an 81.
Bernice Sitompul (83) and April Ohlendorf (85) rounded out the Ramblers' lineup, while Alexandra Meyers, who was playing as an individual, tallied a four-over 76, the top mark by any Loyola golfer on the day. Carey Farley also competed as an individual and notched an 81.
Jordan Woods and Olivia Kuss of IUPUI share the overall lead after one round after putting up identical one-over-par rounds of 73 this afternoon.
The 15-team field wraps up play tomorrow with a shotgun start beginning at 9:15 a.m.
