Loyola Begins Busy Week Tonight Against Green Bay

Loyola Women's Soccer Weekly Notes

CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team is slated for a busy week, which gets under way tonight when the Ramblers take on Green Bay on the road at 7 p.m. CT. LU travels to Milwaukee this Friday (Sept. 25) to face the Panthers before returning home this Sunday (Sept. 27) to host Valparaiso at 6 p.m. CT.

LAST TIME OUT: The Ramblers fell on the road to Illinois, 2-0, on Sept. 18. The Fighting Illini out shot the Ramblers, 19-8, in the loss. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Groesch made seven saves for LU.

GREEN BAY SCOUTING REPORT: Green Bay enters Tuesday's contest with a 2-5-1 record for the season. Last weekend, the Phoenix fell to No. 22 Indiana, 2-0, and tied Eastern Illinois, 2-2. UWGB defeated Northern Iowa, 2-1, on Aug. 30 and North Dakota State, 3-1, on Sept. 13 for the team's two wins thus far. Corey Arno leads the Phoenix in scoring with three goals and an assist.

MILWAUKEE SCOUTING REPORT: Milwaukee holds a 2-4-3 record for the season after tying No. 11 Purdue, 1-1, in West Lafayette, Ind., on Sept. 18. The Panthers went four matches without a loss to open the season, starting at 2-0-2, but have dropped four of five matches since. Reigning Horizon League Player of the Week Sarah Hagen leads the Panthers in scoring with nine points (3G, 3A).

VALPARAISO SCOUTING REPORT: Valparaiso holds a 3-6-0 record through last weekend, when the Crusaders defeated Liberty, 1-0, and dropped their conference opener against Wright State, 3-0. Valpo's other wins came against IUPUI (1-0) and Ball State (3-2). Rachel Hoaglin and Luisa Desario lead the team in goals with two each, while Julie Kondratko has three assists to lead the squad.

LOYOLA IN YOUR LIVING ROOM: Loyola will be televised nationally when the Ramblers travel to College Station, Texas, to take on nationally ranked Texas A&M on Oct. 11. The Ramblers-Aggies matchup has been selected as one of eight NSCAA College Games of the Week and will be aired live on Fox Soccer Channel at 4 p.m. CT.

UP NEXT: The Ramblers hit the road again, traveling to face Youngstown State on Oct. 2 and Cleveland State on Oct. 4. Friday's match is set for 6 p.m. CT, while Sunday's tilt is set for noon CT.
