Rough is one of the only words that comes to mind when looking back on the weekend at the University of Illinois. We did not play Rambler softball and Mother Nature was having some mental issues that ended up being the cause of an early end to the tournament. We are not allowed to use the word "cold" on this team (Coach B says that cold does not exist), so we came up with a few alternate things to say such as "sounds like tweezing" and "unhot," which described the conditions last weekend perfectly.
We were just not on our game and we could not make things click. There isn't any way to fix that besides working hard this week and coming out strong to start off conference at Youngstown State this coming weekend. We need to shake off whatever happened down at U of I and truly "Come Back Untouchable." We left all negativity in Champaign-Urbana and are ready for a brand new start as we begin our journey to a conference championship and NCAA Regionals. This team has a chance to make history for Loyola's softball program and we don't plan on doing it quietly. We want to make a name for ourselves and it all starts this weekend. Our bus pulls out Friday afternoon for a 7-hour ride to Youngstown, Ohio. We are dead set on coming back with 3 W's in our pockets.
