Kasubke Named To MVC All-Defensive Team

Loyola University Chicago sophomore catcher Katie Kasubke (O’Fallon, Mo./St. Dominic) has been selected to the Missouri Valley Conference’s All-Defensive Team it was announced tonight. Kasubke is the third Rambler in as many seasons to earn the honor.

In 49 games this season, Kasubke has posted a .977 fielding percentage, committing just five errors, seeing minimal action at first base in addition to earning the bulk of her playing time behind the plate.

Kasubke has also had a solid season at the plate, batting .241 (34-for-141) with team highs of five home runs and 25 RBIs.

Loyola brings a 26-25 overall record into this weekend’s MVC Tournament, which will be held May 11-13 in Normal, Ill. The No. 8 seed Ramblers, who have posted their most wins since 2013, open MVC Tournament play tomorrow versus No. 5 seed Evansville at 11 a.m.
