CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago sophomore pitcher Keenan Dolezal (North Barrington, Ill./Barrington) was named Missouri Valley Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention today by the league office. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.2 grade-point average or higher, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and meet certain playing requirements.
The righthander went 8-11 with a 2.62 ERA and nine complete games this season and helped the Ramblers to their first winning season (27-26) since 2013.
Dolezal is the first Rambler since Ashley Rogers and Lauren Zaworski in 2014 to earn MVC Scholar-Athlete Team Honorable Mention. Since joining the conference for the 2014 season, Brittany Gardner (2014) and Ashley Rogers (2015, 2016) have been first team selections.
An exercise science major, Dolezal was a member of the MVC Honor Roll in 2015-16.
