CHICAGO - Loyola's women's volleyball team will participate in the "Dig for the Cure" campaign during its matches against Youngstown State and Cleveland State the weekend of October 17-18. Proceeds from donations and pledges will go to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation and to raise awareness during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"I am very happy that we can participate in such an important event," said head coach Marcie Wolbeck. "I hope that everyone will contribute what they can to make it a success on our campus."
The goal for each of the participating programs is $2,000. People can participate in one of two ways, either through a flat donation fee or pledge a dollar amount per dig recorded in the match. Currently 164 high school and college teams will be participating in the event, which raised over $231,000 last year.
For more information or to make a donation/pledge, please contact Julie Wiejak in the Loyola volleyball office via phone (773.508.8749) or email (email@example.com).
