CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago women's volleyball team will open Horizon League Championship play on Friday afternoon in Cleveland, Ohio. The fourth-seeded Ramblers (19-10) will take on Butler (18-10) at Cleveland State's Woodling Gymnasium at 1 p.m. CT.
Loyola swept the regular-season series from Butler this season, getting 14 kills from Mallory Curran and 13 from Katie Johnson in a four-set win in Indianapolis on Oct. 11, and riding Johnson's double-double of 13 kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 sweep on Nov. 8 at Alumni Gym.
The winner will take on the winner of Friday's first quarterfinal between top-seeded Milwaukee and the winner of UIC/Youngstown State in a Saturday afternoon semifinal.
